Referral Program Terms

1. Who can take part.
Anyone 18 or older may refer a company, except QuoteToMe employees and contractors and their immediate households, and government officials acting in an official capacity. You may not refer a company you own or control.
2. If you work for the company you refer.
If you are employed by, or act as an adviser or agent to, the company you refer, you must disclose this bonus to your employer or principal and obtain their consent before accepting payment. QuoteToMe may request confirmation, may pay the bonus to the company instead, or may decline to pay where accepting it could create a conflict of interest. You may also waive the bonus and still make the introduction.
3. What qualifies.
A qualified referral is a company that (a) is located in Canada or the USA, (b) has not held a paid QuoteToMe subscription in the previous 24 months, (c) is not in an active sales, discovery, trial or onboarding process with QuoteToMe at the time we receive your referral, (d) signs a subscription and makes its first payment within 180 days of our written confirmation, and (e) completes onboarding.
4. Validity period.
A confirmed referral remains valid for 180 days. Where an active sales opportunity is open at the end of that period, the referral remains valid until that opportunity closes, to a maximum of 12 months from confirmation. After expiry the company may be referred again by anyone.
5. First submission wins.
Where more than one person refers the same company, the first complete submission received through the referral form is the valid one. Verbal mentions, including names raised on a call, are not referrals until submitted through the form and confirmed by us.
6. Review and notice.
We will confirm or decline each referral by email within 5 business days of receipt, and will provide a general reason for any decline.
7. One bonus per company.
One bonus is payable per referred company, regardless of the number of locations, divisions, users, or related legal entities, unless agreed otherwise in writing before the referral is submitted.
8. Amount and currency.
The bonus is $500 USD for all referrers, inclusive of any applicable GST/HST.
9. Payment timing.
Bonuses are paid within 30 days following the end of the calendar quarter in which the referral qualifies.
10. Payment and tax information.
To receive payment you must provide payment details and tax information, being a SIN or business number in Canada, or a completed Form W-9 in the USA. Where this information is not provided within 12 months of our request, the bonus is forfeited.
11. Clawback.
Where a referred company cancels, receives a refund, or reverses payment within 90 days of its first payment, the bonus is not payable. Any bonus already paid may be offset against future bonuses.
12. Taxes.
You are responsible for any taxes arising on your bonus. QuoteToMe will issue tax slips, being a T4A in Canada or a Form 1099 in the USA, where required by law.
13. Disclosure.
If you recommend QuoteToMe publicly, including on social media, in newsletters, on a website, or in association forums, you must clearly disclose that you may earn a referral bonus.
14. Consent and privacy.
By submitting a referral you confirm that you have the referred person's permission to share their contact details. QuoteToMe will contact the referred person, will identify you as the referrer in its first message, and will not continue contacting them for marketing purposes without their consent.
15. No unsolicited messaging.
Referrals must not be generated through bulk or unsolicited email, automated messaging, or paid search advertising on QuoteToMe brand terms.
16. Fraud and investigation.
QuoteToMe may withhold, delay or reverse a bonus in cases of suspected fraud, self-dealing or misrepresentation, and may investigate before paying.
17. Partner program.
Approved QuoteToMe Partners are compensated under their Partner agreement and may not also earn a referral bonus in respect of the same company.
18. Changes.
QuoteToMe may amend or end this program with 30 days notice posted on the referral page. Referrals confirmed before a change takes effect remain subject to the terms in place at the time of confirmation.
19. Governing law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it.
